I traveled with a friend to Denver to catch a couple baseball games. On the way out we had lunch in Ogallala and drove out to Lake McConaughy.

This was one of the first of many evenings grilling out this summer.

This will be the last week for Joseph Vavak's photo show: ninety-three, at the Hot Shops. Joe was kind enough to let William Hess and myself display some of our work.

This spring I traveled to Portland, OR and then to So Cal. Here are a few shots from the west coast journey.

This is the last year with Rosenblatt as we approach the future of baseball in Omaha.

The Richter farm in Guthrie County, IA was purchased in 1902 and remains Richter owned as my grandmother currently lives there. The glass negative from the black and white photo unfortunately broke right over my great grandfather.

01.25.2010
I was in Council Bluffs for the pedestrian bridge opening ceremony in '08, photos in sequence.

01.23.2010
I captured a few details walking through Park West and East.

Before giving a tour of his place to a neighbor and making a trip for new clothes I did take a couple portraits.

10.10.2009
I was the only tourist in sight to photograph some of Milwaukee's great architecure and design.

Harney Street has quite a few vacant retail/office buildings that may not see a better day.

07.24.2009
As the Midtown Crossing completion approaches many more buildings are finding a remodel finalization nearing. Just as other properties in the Park West to East neighborhood this apartment building was overgrown and a little rough last summer. Now this spring it has started to transform with some new windows and the pruning of bushes.

This hoop has been abandon and replaced by the new half court at Dewey Park.

I always enjoy a casual walk in Colorado.

A beat-up parking spot indicator and its surroundings captured my attention for quite some time. This marker is just outside of the world famous Rose & Crown Pub.

This pleasant seven unit on Turner Boulevard has interested many. While I was traipsing around the homeowner next door called me over and wanted to know what I was up to. He was pleased to find that we shared the same passion for the building. We had a lot of the same opinions except for his ambitious dream of turning the lower floor into a restaurant and the top floor into an evening nightclub with a patio on the roof; I just though it would make an awesome home. After we parted I continued taking pictures and someone pulled into the driveway. There was another lengthy conversation about dreams as they stared through the window.
Just two blocks south of Midtown Crossing, Dewey Park across the street, two blocks from the Interstate and a minute from Downtown this is the ideal property.

A weekly walk on Harney and Farnam Street usually leads me to this wall. I think it's an interesting tile and stone texture that helps break up the red brick neighborhood.

07.12.2009
The past couple of years Iowa's landscape has been changing. It's still flat with some gorgeous rolling hills but they've added hundreds of wind turbines. Iowa is currently the third largest wind energy producing state behind California and Texas.

07.10.2009
This spring I was in California visiting some friends and out of all the pictures I took of cityscapes, smog and architecture I wanted to share this photograph. I grew up in the Midwest so this made me a little jealous of the everyday opportunity that kids raised near an ocean have.

07.05.2009
The 4th of July ended with a friend and myself taking pictures of our neighborhood. This is one of my photographs so I'm not pictured. I think the purple works well with that bright tree in the middle.

Artist Jeff Curto is displaying work from "The Italian Portfolio: Evidence of Hands on Stone" at the Workspace Gallery, with a reception from 6 to 8 in the evening.
View a photograph and bio at workspacegallery.googlepages.com. Jeff will be speaking about the work at 7pm.
"Jeff's work is a stunning example of mixing old and new photographic technologies. Pairing his film-based 4x5-inch view camera with digital printing allows a visual clarity that is rarely accomplished using purely traditional or digital methods."
